Senior IT Project Manager – Nuclear Programs

Location: Juno Beach, FL

Pay Rate: $40–45/hour

Duration: 12-Month Contract




Summary:

A leading energy/utilities company is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to support high-priority IT programs across its nuclear fleet. Embedded within the IT Nuclear Projects team, this PM will provide project governance, financial management, and cross-functional coordination across vendor and internal IT PMs — ensuring workstreams stay aligned, on schedule, and delivered to company standards.




Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will manage and support a variety of IT projects within the Nuclear Programs department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a consolidated view of all assigned IT project workstreams, milestones, and dependencies
  • Proactively identifying and resolving schedule risks across vendor and internal PM teams
  • Owning the IT risk and issues register, escalating critical risks to leadership in a timely, structured manner
  • Developing and delivering regular status reports to IT and nuclear business leadership
  • Translating technical project updates into clear, leadership-ready reporting
  • Ensuring all assigned projects adhere to IT delivery standards and governance frameworks
  • Conducting governance reviews to identify and close delivery gaps
  • Developing and maintaining project budgets targeting ≤5% variance; monitoring actuals on a recurring cadence
  • Delivering accurate forecasting and financial reporting packages for IT leadership
  • Partnering with IT finance on budget cycle planning
  • Leading SOW creation and managing the full PO lifecycle through invoice reconciliation
  • Managing vendor relationships, performance, and contractual compliance
  • Coordinating GRC reviews for vendor onboarding; partnering with procurement and legal to ensure compliant spend




Essential Job Duties and Job Functions:

  • Provide formalized, continuing work direction and leadership to assigned team(s), ensuring timely and effective project execution
  • Support employee development, coaching, and ongoing performance management
  • Plan and direct the installation of IT projects that impact multiple business areas
  • Lead and coordinate technology projects with business partners to deliver IT capabilities aligned with enterprise objectives
  • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
  • Secure required resources and use formal processes/tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and provide executive-level project oversight
  • Lead continuous improvement of IT governance frameworks

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 8+ years of IT project management experience managing complex, multi-workstream programs
  • Demonstrated vendor governance and oversight experience
  • Strong financial acumen: SOW/PO management, budget forecasting, variance management (≤5% target)
  • Experience with GRC reviews and procurement in regulated environments
  • Excellent executive stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, utilities, or energy preferred)
  • Proficiency with Jira, ServiceNow, and/or Power BI
  • Strong understanding of project management tools (JIRA, Trello, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience leading M365 implementations (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform)
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based collaboration tools and enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Hands-on PM experience in Network Infrastructure (LAN/WAN, wireless), Server & Infrastructure, End User Device Deployments, Cybersecurity & Compliance, and Communications Technology strongly preferred
  • Preferred: Nuclear or large-scale utility site project experience; PMP or equivalent certification; Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery experience

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field required
  • 6–10 years of experience leading IT projects, managing cross-functional teams, and overseeing technical implementations
  • Experience in Agile project management, IT governance, financial forecasting, and strategic planning preferred
