Community Engagement Coordinator - Headspace Chatswood

Chatswood | Term Defined Part-Time | 22.8 hours per week across three days | Contract until February 2027

Pathway Talent is partnering with New Horizons, a leading not-for-profit organisation, to recruit a passionate and creative Community Engagement Coordinator for its headspace service in Chatswood.

This is an exciting opportunity to engage with young people, families and the wider community while promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma and encouraging young people to seek support early.

About the Role

As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will work in partnership with young people, families, community organisations, local services and the headspace team to identify and respond to local community needs.

You will coordinate community engagement initiatives that increase awareness of headspace services, improve mental health literacy and support young people aged 12–25 to access the right assistance when they need it.

This is a term defined part-time position based in the Chatswood area, working 22.8 hours per week across three days until 13 February 2027.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support community events and activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging community awareness initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with young people, families, community organisations and local services.
• Coordinate and support the centre’s Youth Reference Group.
• Ensure community engagement activities reflect local needs and evidence-based practice.
• Facilitate presentations, workshops and group activities that improve mental health literacy and reduce stigma.
• Promote headspace services and encourage early help-seeking among young people.
• Develop partnerships that improve access to support for young people and their families.
• Represent headspace at community events, networks and stakeholder meetings.
• Use creative and inclusive approaches to engage diverse communities.

About You
You will bring energy, creativity and a genuine passion for improving the wellbeing of young people.

To be successful, you will have:

• Experience in community engagement, youth services, mental health, health promotion, community development or a related field.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Confidence facilitating presentations, workshops and community activities.
• The ability to engage effectively with young people, families and diverse communities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Excellent organisation, planning and time-management skills.
• A proactive, creative and self-motivated approach.
• A willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, Health Promotion, Communications or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

• A valid NSW Working with Children Check.
• A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
