Portfolio Analyst (PM Practice Analyst)

The PM Practice Analyst works within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) and manages the project management solution, resource demand reporting, adoption of portfolio and project controls to achieve portfolio outcomes. They assist with developing project management capability and maintain the centre of project excellence functions of the EPMO.

Requirements

• Liaise with senior executives to formulate the status and ongoing performance of strategy implementation and business unit Initiatives (for reporting into the Strategy & Budget Performance Committee), including driving agreed recommendations.
• Maintain registers and prepare reports on portfolio performance, governance, and strategy management material.
• Maintain Summary Benefits Realisation Plans and ensures that all benefits are registered in the Portfolio Benefits Register and coordinated benefits realisation schedule with Finance and Project Owners.
• Manage alignment of projects against project management policy and standards, commensurate with the level of complexity and risk, and works with stakeholders to address any shortcomings to achieve organisational objectives.
• Manage the Enterprise Project Management tool, providing thought leadership and education across the organisation to increase adoption, manages resource demand reporting and develops treatment plans with Line managers and project owners to address resource contention risk
• Manage project resource induction process (including schedule, meeting invitation and induction) and maintain divisional project-related capability development plans

Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated, equivalent, relevant professional experience.
• Experience working within an Enterprise Portfolio Management office (EPMO) supporting corporate strategy and portfolio of strategic programs and projects.
• Experience working in complex project environments effectively engaging key stakeholders to drive operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of PMI Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) with demonstrated experience supporting the Project Management lifecycle and associated controls.
• Demonstrated experience in corporate strategy and portfolio management, connecting portfolio to enterprise strategy, maintaining portfolio vision and operations.
• Experience in measuring portfolio performance and reporting key metrics involving implementation of the strategy, alignment, trends and continuous improvement.
• Track record in engaging with stakeholders and project teams in a complex matrix environment to drive operational excellence and achieve agreed outcomes.
