Geoscientific Systems & Data Specialist

  • Work with the global client
  • Initial 6 months contract with chances of extension
  • Based in Perth CBD

We are seeking a Geoscientific Systems & Data Specialist to support the development of geoscience data products and digital assets within a Data Platform team.

The role will work closely with exploration, geology, data engineering and digital teams to improve data quality, accessibility and system adoption across exploration workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business and technical requirements.
  • Translate exploration workflows and geological data needs into clear system requirements.
  • Support development of structured geoscience data products for reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with data quality, governance, onboarding and training.
  • Work with technical teams to improve data flows and digital workflows.
  • Participate in Agile delivery, peer reviews and documentation.

Key Skills

  • Strong background in geoscience systems and data management.
  • Experience deploying, rolling out, and embedding geoscience systems within exploration operations.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and innovative in approach.
  • Ability to assess current-state data challenges and define future-state improvements to data flows.
  • Ability to act as a conduit between geology team requirements and data engineering or architecture practices.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and share knowledge effectively with others.
  • Strong technical capability in tools such as SQL, GitHub, Dashboards, Confluence, and Jira, with specific knowledge of Databricks being advantageous.
