Position Overview
Lead the growth and market expansion of Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) systems across Southeast Asia and Oceania through strategic business development, solution selling, and project leadership.
Drive the adoption of sustainable evaporation and process efficiency solutions while delivering commercial growth, successful project execution, and long-term customer value.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Drive regional business growth for Mechanical Vapor Recompression systems across Southeast Asia and Oceania.
- Identify priority markets, applications, and customer segments where MVR delivers strong sustainability, energy-saving, and process-efficiency value.
- Develop and execute a focused go-to-market strategy for industries such as chemical processing, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, solvent recovery, wastewater treatment, and Zero Liquid Discharge applications.
- Build a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities through direct customer engagement, channel collaboration, EPC partnerships, and internal network development.
- Position MVR as a strategic solution for customers seeking lower operating costs, reduced steam dependency, improved water recovery, and lower CO₂ footprint.
- Engage with senior customer stakeholders, plant managers, process engineers, consultants, EPCs, and decision-makers to understand process challenges and translate them into value-based MVR solutions.
- Lead technical-commercial discussions, feasibility reviews, application assessments, and solution positioning.
- Build long-term relationships with strategic accounts and high-potential customers across the region.
- Support complex negotiations by articulating lifecycle value, payback potential, reliability benefits, and sustainability impact.
- Take ownership of opportunities from early concept through proposal, order intake, execution, delivery, commissioning, and customer acceptance.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, service, application specialists, and regional sales teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Act as the key business owner for MVR projects, ensuring alignment between customer expectations, technical scope, commercial commitments, and internal execution capability.
- Monitor project milestones, risks, customer communication, and handover quality to ensure a professional and reliable customer experience.
- Oversee the commissioning process together with technical and service teams to ensure successful start-up, performance validation, and customer satisfaction.
- Support troubleshooting, application optimization, and lessons learned to continuously improve future project execution.
- Ensure that installed systems become strong references for future business development and regional market confidence.
- Work closely with regional sales teams, distributors, service teams, product companies, engineering centers, and management to build MVR capability across the region.
- Train and support internal stakeholders on MVR applications, customer value propositions, qualification criteria, and commercial positioning.
- Provide market intelligence, competitor insights, customer feedback, and application trends to support product and business strategy.
- Contribute to business planning, forecasting, pipeline governance, and strategic reviews.
- Own the regional MVR opportunity pipeline and drive disciplined follow-up through CRM and structured review processes.
- Deliver growth in orders, revenue, profitability, market share, and reference installations.
- Develop business cases and investment recommendations for strategic opportunities, partnerships, or capability gaps.
- Ensure that projects are pursued with strong commercial discipline, technical feasibility, and long-term customer value.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong experience in business development, technical sales, project sales, or solution selling within industrial process equipment or engineered systems.
- Proven ability to develop new markets, build pipelines, and convert complex technical opportunities into successful projects.
- Strong understanding of industrial process applications, customer decision-making, and project execution cycles.
- Experience managing a sales team of 8-10 people, including team management, talent development, and performance evaluation.
- Comfortable working across multiple countries, cultures, and business environments in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
- Willingness to travel extensively across geographically dispersed markets within the region.
- Expertise in Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) systems and related industrial process applications.
- Strong capability in technical sales, project sales, solution selling, feasibility reviews, application assessments, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies across industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of industrial process equipment and engineered systems.
- Exposure to industries including Process Industry, Semiconductors, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Energy, EPCs, and OEMs.
- Experience working with both direct sales engineer networks and distributor-led markets.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop business cases, manage opportunity pipelines, and drive revenue and profitability growth.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and structured pipeline management processes.
- Understanding of project execution, commissioning, performance validation, and customer acceptance processes.
- Ability to communicate confidently with both technical and senior commercial stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to lead across functions without relying solely on formal authority.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, resilience, and customer focus.
