Principal Coordinator - Roads & Civil Infrastructure

For an experienced civil construction leader, this is an opportunity to step beyond individual projects and take ownership of an entire works program.

We are partnering with a regional Queensland local government organisation seeking an accomplished infrastructure professional to lead the planning and delivery of its road construction, maintenance and grading programs.

This isn't a role sitting several layers removed from delivery. You'll be working across both the strategic and operational sides of infrastructure, leading multidisciplinary teams and providing direction across complex works programs while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how programs are planned, prioritised and delivered, improve operational performance and provide trusted technical advice to senior stakeholders.

What you'll be responsible for:
Your remit will span a substantial portfolio of civil construction and maintenance activities, including:

• Leading road construction, maintenance, grading and associated civil works programs
• Managing supervisors, operational teams, contractors and multidisciplinary resources
• Developing works programs, estimates, schedules and delivery priorities
• Driving improvements across safety, productivity, cost, quality and delivery performance
• Managing competing operational priorities across a geographically dispersed network
• Providing senior technical and operational advice on infrastructure delivery

Who we're looking for We're deliberately looking for someone who has spent considerable time leading civil works in the field and at program level, rather than someone whose experience has been primarily design or consultancy based.
To be seriously considered, you'll need to bring:

• A minimum of 15 years' experience in civil construction and road maintenance/grading operations
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary civil construction or maintenance teams
• Strong experience developing and delivering complex road works programs, including planning, estimating, scheduling and contractor management
• A track record of delivering works safely and successfully across cost, quality and program requirements
• The judgement and communication skills to operate as a senior technical and operational leader

A Civil Engineering qualification and/or formal Project Management qualifications will be highly regarded.

You'll also need to hold a Queensland C Class Manual Driver Licence and current General Safety Induction Card.
