Gen AI Lead (JRXXXXXXX / JG21~JG22)

A leading global financial services organization is seeking an experienced Gen AI Lead to join its Digital Engineering team.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and delivering enterprise Generative AI solutions while providing technical guidance to a team of AI engineers.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, senior management, and global teams to build scalable AI solutions including AI agents, agentic workflows, Document AI, AI OCR, and enterprise chatbots using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical architecture, software development, and AI innovation while leading the successful delivery of enterprise AI initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise Generative AI solutions.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of Gen AI engineers (technical lead role; no people management responsibilities).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to develop scalable AI applications.
- Design and develop AI agents and agentic workflows for business use cases.
- Build and maintain enterprise AI solutions such as Document AI, AI OCR, and chatbots.
- Develop applications using Java, Python, and modern cloud-native technologies.
- Write automated unit tests and maintain high code quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform bug fixes.
- Monitor and automate cloud-based AI services on Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop and maintain APIs and microservices following industry best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Coordinate with offshore development teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Requirements:
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Experience developing enterprise applications in the insurance industry.
- Strong experience with GCP, Java, Python, and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Generative AI technologies and AI agents.
- Familiarity with tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Google ADK.
- Experience with REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL databases, and messaging technologies.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Work Location: Tokyo
Working Style: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:30
