Finance Manager

 A dynamic organization in the natural resources sector is seeking a Finance Manager to join its growing finance team. This role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, tax, and business operations, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious CPA looking to transition from public accounting into industry and build a long-term leadership career.

 

Reporting to senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations while partnering with teams across the business. This is a hands-on position that combines technical accounting with strategic financial analysis and process improvement. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on taking ownership, and is eager to grow into a senior finance leadership role.

What You'll Do

• Manage month-end and year-end financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting packages
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Assist with tax compliance, audit coordination, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve financial processes
• Analyze financial and operational results, providing insights to support business decisions
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, growth projects, and operational improvements
• Contribute to special projects, including business integrations, acquisitions, or other strategic initiatives as required
• Take ownership of a broad range of accounting and finance responsibilities while supporting the continued growth of the finance function

What You Bring

• CPA designation is required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Progressive experience in public accounting, preferably from a mid-sized or large firm
• Experience leading multiple audit engagements or busy seasons with increasing levels of responsibility
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial analysis
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
• Experience within mining, natural resources, manufacturing, construction, or other asset-intensive industries is considered an asset
