Quarry Supervisor | Northern Suburbs Brisbane

Hinchen Recruitment Group is recruiting a Quarry Supervisor for an established site north of Brisbane. The quarry produces aggregates for concrete, asphalt and road sealing, as well as road base for the region's construction and infrastructure needs.
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you'll be the person who turns the production plan into a safe, well-organised day on site. You'll know what the plant is doing, where the crew needs support and which issues need attention before they affect production.
What you'll be responsible for
· Setting daily priorities and coordinating quarry operators, contractors, mobile equipment and fixed plant.
· Leading pre-starts, checking that work is properly planned and reinforcing safe practices throughout the shift.
· Overseeing extraction, crushing and screening activities to meet production and product quality requirements.
· Monitoring plant performance and working with maintenance teams to plan repairs, respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
· Keeping accurate operational information and communicating progress, risks and changing priorities to the Quarry Manager.
· Maintaining environmental standards, including attention to dust, water and the surrounding site.
· Coaching team members, developing their capability and building a crew that takes pride in doing the job well.
· Identifying practical improvements to safety, reliability and the flow of work across the quarry.
What you'll bring
You'll have solid experience in hard rock quarrying or a closely related extractive operation, along with a working understanding of crushing and screening processes and fixed and mobile plant.
You may already be a Quarry Supervisor. We'd also welcome applications from Production Supervisors, Leading Hands and experienced quarry operators who have demonstrated leadership ability and are ready for a broader role.
You'll be someone who can make clear decisions on the ground, communicate well with operators and maintenance teams, and keep safety and quality in view when production pressures rise. Experience improving processes or developing operators would be particularly valuable.
