President Director

Monroe Consulting Group is currently supporting a client in identifying a President Director / CEO to lead a major energy and infrastructure project in Indonesia.

The role will have overall responsibility for the project company, including business strategy, operations, governance, commercial matters, and relationships with shareholders, government authorities, JV partners, lenders, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company and provide overall strategic and operational direction.
• Manage relationships with shareholders, JV partners, government/regulators, lenders, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee major commercial, contractual, financial, operational, and project decisions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, contracts, permits, and governance requirements.
• Lead the project through key milestones including financial close, construction, commissioning, COD, and operations.
• Ensure effective corporate governance, risk management, internal controls, and reporting.
• Lead and align cross-functional teams across project, finance, operations, and corporate functions.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years at Director, BOD, Country Head, Project Director, or equivalent level.
• Proven experience leading power, energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Ideally experienced in WtE/PSEL, IPP, PLTU, PLTSa, biomass, gas, or related sectors.
• Proven experience taking projects from construction through commissioning/COD and into operations.
• Strong exposure to government/regulatory stakeholders, JV management, EPC contracts, PPA/offtake structures, and project finance.
• Experience in JV, SOE/BUMN-affiliated, or highly regulated environments.
• Strong English communication skills and comfortable working with international partners and expatriate management.
• Willing to be based at or travel frequently to the project location.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree; Master’s/MBA preferred.

Preferred

Candidates with backgrounds in strategy, infrastructure, or transaction advisory consulting, as well as experience working with international investors or partners, will be considered an advantage.
