Technical Sales Engineer

The Role
Stellar Recruitment is proud to be partnering with Hynds Pipe Systems on the appointment of a Technical Sales Engineer within their Trenchless and Specialist Pipelines team.

This is a technically driven business development role within a niche specialty of the civil construction industry.

Working across advanced trenchless technologies and specialist pipeline systems, you’ll play a key role in helping contractors, consultants, and asset owners deliver some of New Zealand’s most technically demanding underground infrastructure projects.

You’ll be involved in:

• Working alongside contractors, consultants, and asset owners to develop practical pipeline solutions for complex infrastructure projects
• Identifying project opportunities and influencing specifications across trenchless, bulk water, and resilient infrastructure markets
• Assisting with specification, scoping, and selection of specialist pipeline systems across concrete, GRP, HDPE, PVC, ductile iron, and steel
• Acting as a technical advisor throughout project development, tendering, and delivery phases
• Growing Hynds’ presence and relationships across specialist pipeline markets in Auckland and Waikato

What You’ll Bring

• Background in technical sales, business development, or project engineering within civil infrastructure
• Technical knowledge across one or more of the following - trenchless technology, HDD, pipe jacking, tunnelling, pipeline engineering, or bulk water infrastructure
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering designs, specifications, and construction methodologies
• Commercial acumen across project pricing, opportunity development, and relationship management
• Confident communicator across both technical and client-facing environments
