Job Overview:
Step into a Mechanical Engineer, Design Development role with Ingersoll Rand’s Bentleyville, Pennsylvania site—a key North American engineering and packaging hub for Nash and MD Kinney liquid-ring vacuum pumps and compressors. The team supports a broad portfolio of rotating-equipment designs, global manufacturing, and U.S. service operations, with responsibility spanning product engineering, design support, packaging, and lifecycle support.
In this role, you’ll take meaningful ownership of complex rotating equipment within two established, market-leading product brands. You will support the design, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of commercial liquid-ring vacuum pumps and compressors, including engineering changes, product data and documentation, manufacturing support, and technical collaboration with Quality, Operations, Service, Sales, and Product Management. You’ll contribute to both current product support and new product development, helping improve performance, reduce cost without compromising reliability, expand CFD capability, and advance proven technology into its next generation. Whether you’re early in your engineering career and ready for greater development ownership, or you’ve taken a broader path into mechanical/product design, this role offers room to grow your technical depth and impact.
What makes you an instant-yes candidate? You take ownership, work independently, stay organized, communicate effectively across teams, and keep projects moving with the right priorities and attention to detail. Technically, you bring a strong mechanical foundation and an interest in understanding the mechanics, assembly, and operation of rotating equipment. You can perform engineering calculations and analysis and are proficient in 3D CAD. Experience with FEA/CFD, vibration, fluid dynamics, troubleshooting, ERP/BOM ownership, or Ansys adds value. Direct Nash or MD Kinney experience is not required—a strong mechanical design and problem-solving foundation, combined with the ability to quickly develop deeper analytical skills, can be equally valuable.
Bring your mechanical design development expertise, curiosity, and ownership mindset—and help take proven Nash and MD Kinney technology into its next generation.
