In this role you will be responsible for managing the planning, procurement, delivery and financial administration of civil infrastructure recovery projects. You'll work closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants, government agencies and community stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of flood recovery projects from assessment through to completion.
- Coordinate emergent works and support prioritization of recovery activities based on community risk and infrastructure needs.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure and ensure compliance with DRFA funding requirements.
- Prepare project briefs, procurement documentation, contract evaluations and administer construction contracts.
- Monitor construction works through regular site inspections, ensuring quality, safety and legislative compliance.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with contractors, consultants, government agencies and the local community.
- Prepare project reports, funding submissions and progress updates for management and Council.
- Promote a strong workplace health and safety culture across all project activities.
Successful candidate
- Demonstrated experience managing civil infrastructure construction or maintenance projects.
- Strong project management, contract administration and procurement experience.
- Experience managing project budgets, financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to lead project teams and coordinate contractors to achieve successful outcomes.
- A sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of Local Government processes and legislation will be highly regarded.
Essential Qualifications & Licenses
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years' experience in a similar role, preferably within Local Government.
- Current Construction Industry White Card.
- Current unrestricted Queensland "C" Class Driver License.
- National Police Check (or ability to obtain one).
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision.
