Mechanical FItter NZ

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a hands-on industrial site team in Tauranga.

This role involves mechanical installation, assembly, pipework and maintenance across a range of equipment and systems. We need someone practical, reliable and willing to get involved in a variety of mechanical tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and connect mechanical equipment and components
  
  
• Work with galvanised pipe, including threading and installation
  
  
• Build, install and connect pipe systems
  
  
• Carry out general plumbing and pipework tasks
  
  
• Install pumps and other mechanical equipment
  
  
• Remove, loosen and tighten bolts and mechanical components
  
  
• Carry out general mechanical fitting and assembly work
  
  
• Perform plastic welding where required
  
  
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  
  
• Follow drawings, instructions and site procedures
  
  
• Assist with other practical mechanical tasks as required
  
  
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship
  
  
• Follow all workplace health and safety requirements
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
  
  
• Strong practical mechanical and fitting skills
  
  
• Experience working with pipework and mechanical equipment
  
  
• Pump installation and mechanical equipment experience
  
  
• Ability to use common hand and power tools
  
  
• Good understanding of mechanical assembly and installation
  
  
• Experience with galvanised pipe threading is highly desirable
  
  
• Plumbing and pipe installation experience is advantageous
  
  
• Plastic welding experience is advantageous, but training can be provided
