Solar Project Engineer

Location: Waterford | Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: €80,000 – €95,000 DOE

The Role

As a Solar Project Engineer, you'll support projects from design through to commissioning, ensuring technical excellence and successful project delivery.

  • Support the design and engineering of large-scale solar PV projects
  • Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams
  • Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases
  • Liaise with ESB Networks and support grid connection requirements
  • Assist with equipment selection, cable sizing and system optimisation
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor project progress
  • Support project handover, commissioning reports and as-built documentation


The Person

This role is suited to an engineer with renewable energy, electrical, construction or infrastructure project experience.

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience as a Project Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Solar Engineer or similar
  • Solar PV project experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of PV systems, inverters, transformers and associated infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Irish regulations, grid connections and industry standards
  • Experience using AutoCAD, PVsyst or similar engineering software
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Ireland
