Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Assistant Procurement Officer (Grade 5) to join their Operational Sourcing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procure-to-pay experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and wants to build their procurement career within a large government organisation.
Working alongside Procurement Services, Finance, the Solution Centre and the Centre of Excellence, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality procurement services while supporting business stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase orders accurately and within required timeframes.
- Conduct sourcing activities using procurement platforms such as Beeline and ARIBA.
- Manage end-to-end Request for Quote (RFQ) sourcing activities across multiple business divisions.
- Provide procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal business units to resolve procurement enquiries.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while managing a high-volume workload.
- Assist stakeholders with procurement system and process adoption.
About You
We're looking for someone who is proactive, customer-focused and enjoys solving problems.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) or procurement support.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- High levels of integrity, initiative and professionalism.
Highly Desirable
- Experience using ARIBA and/or SAP.
- Previous NSW Government or broader Government procurement experience.
- Exposure to RFQ sourcing activities.
- Knowledge of procurement policies and purchasing processes.
Please note: Experience in supply chain, inventory, materials planning or warehousing is not required for this role.

Reporting Line
This role reports directly to a Team Leader within the Sourcing team and has no direct reports.

- Competitive hourly rate of $40–$50 per hour + Super.
