Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $28-35/hr (Depending on Experience Level)
First Shift: 28-39 hours/week (Depending on Season)
 
 
Job Description: 
The Remote Enrollment Support Specialist provides daily operational support to families and school teams by managing PowerSchool data, processing enrollment documents, and communicating with parents through calls, emails, and texts. While primarily remote, this role includes limited on‑site presence during the start of the school year and for varying events to support front‑office operations and ensure smooth student onboarding.
                                    
Responsibilities:
 
  1. PowerSchool Data Management — Enter, update student records; upload documents; ensure accuracy across enrollment, attendance, and demographic fields.
  2. Spreadsheet Tracking — Maintain enrollment trackers, document logs, and daily status sheets; ensure data is current and shared with building teams.
  3. Parent Communication — Make outbound calls to families regarding missing documents, application status, re‑enrollment, and start‑of‑year requirements.
  4. Email & Text Outreach — Send clear, parent‑friendly messages to guide families through next steps, deadlines, and school expectations.
  5. Document Processing — Collect through email: IDs, birth certificates, IEPs, immunizations, and more - push applications through to Director of Enrollment
  6. On‑Site Support — Assist school teams during the first weeks of school with parent check‑ins, document collection, and roster verification.
  7. Collaboration — Work closely with enrollment staff, building administrators, and data teams to resolve issues quickly. Remain flexible, as tasks within the role fluctuate based on time of year
  8. Quality & Compliance — Follow district procedures to maintain compliance with Michigan pupil accounting standards.
 
 
Qualifications:
 
  1. Strong Communication — Clear, empathetic communication with families from diverse backgrounds.
  2. Technical Proficiency — Comfortable navigating PowerSchool, spreadsheets, shared drives, and communication platforms.
  3. Detail Orientation — Ability to catch data errors, mismatched documents, and inconsistencies in applications.
  4. Problem‑Solving — Resourceful in resolving parent issues and identifying workflow gaps.
  5. Time Management — Ability to prioritize daily tasks and manage high‑volume periods.
  6. Experience in a school district, call center, or enrollment office preferred.
Work Environment & Tools
  1. Remote work with reliable internet and a quiet workspace.
  2. Daily use of PowerSchool, Google Sheets/Excel, SimpleText, district email, and shared drives.
  3. Occasional on‑site support during August/September or other peak periods.
Preferred Experience
  1. Prior experience in school enrollment or student data management.
  2. Familiarity with Detroit‑area families and common enrollment barriers.
  3. Comfort working in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
