About the Role
As the Printing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate and timely printing services that support Council's operations. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will manage print requests from initial production through to finishing, ensuring all work meets quality standards and customer expectations.
In this role, you will:
- Produce a wide range of printed materials, including Council business papers, reports, brochures, leaflets and community publications.
- Operate and maintain a variety of printing and finishing equipment, including digital copiers, large format printers, binding and guillotine machinery.
- Prepare, collate, bind and finish print jobs to a high standard while meeting required deadlines.
- Provide technical advice and exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders regarding printing requirements.
- Monitor and maintain printing supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support daily operations.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the print room while maintaining equipment and adhering to quality, safety and operational procedures.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the Governance team and broader Council operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
- Experience working in a corporate in-house print room or commercial printing environment.
- Demonstrated experience operating high-speed colour and black-and-white digital printing equipment.
- Proficiency using Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word and Fiery Command WorkStation.
- Experience with print finishing processes, including binding, collating, folding and guillotine operations.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills and the ability to produce high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Trade qualification or equivalent experience in digital printing and large format printing.
- Experience operating high-speed copiers and large format printers.
- Knowledge of a wide range of binding and print finishing techniques.
- Experience operating Itek single-colour and two-colour offset printing equipment.
