Role: Project Director - Risk Transformation

Contract Length: 6 months initial

Role:
As Project Director, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex enterprise-wide transformation program focused on improving the effectiveness, scalability, and efficiency of credit risk modelling and validation operations.
Working closely with senior executives across Risk, Finance, Technology, and Data, you will shape the future operating model while ensuring alignment with regulatory and governance requirements.

Role:
As Project Director, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex enterprise-wide transformation program focused on improving the effectiveness, scalability, and efficiency of credit risk modelling and validation operations.
Working closely with senior executives across Risk, Finance, Technology, and Data, you will shape the future operating model while ensuring alignment with regulatory and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the delivery of a large-scale transformation program across multiple workstreams including modelling, validation, data, and operations
- Defining and executing the program strategy, roadmap, and delivery plan
- Assessing current-state processes and identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation, and efficiency gains
- Designing future-state operating models that support scalable and sustainable delivery
- Driving AI, automation, and advanced analytics initiatives across the modelling lifecycle
- Evaluating and implementing global delivery and offshoring strategies where appropriate
- Managing executive-level stakeholder engagement, governance, reporting, risks, issues, and dependencies
- Ensuring compliance with internal risk frameworks, model governance standards, and regulatory expectations
- Leading cross-functional teams across onshore and offshore environments
You Will Have
- 10+ years' experience leading large-scale transformation programs within complex enterprise environments
- Proven experience operating at Project Director, Program Director, or Transformation Director level
- Strong background in process re-engineering, operational transformation, operating model design, or cost optimisation initiatives
- Demonstrated experience delivering AI, automation, or advanced analytics-led transformation programs
- Experience implementing offshoring or global delivery model strategies
- Exposure to banking or financial services environments, ideally within Credit Risk or Regulatory Change functions
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives and navigate matrix organisations
Highly regarded:
- Experience with credit risk modelling, model validation, or model risk management frameworks
- Knowledge of APRA IRB requirements, Basel frameworks, or prudential regulation
- Experience working with regulators, audit functions, or compliance-driven programs
