Accounts Payable Specialist

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Specialist (initial 3 month contract, opportunity for extension) to join a well-established investment organization in Vancouver. This role will help keep payments accurate, timely, and well controlled across multiple corporate entities while supporting strong vendor relationships and effective cash management.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable invoices accurately and on time across multiple corporate entities.
• Investigate and resolve invoice, payment, and vendor discrepancies.
• Build positive vendor relationships through clear and timely communication.
• Escalate complex vendor issues to the appropriate relationship manager when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, strengthen efficiency, and reduce late payment costs.
• Follow established internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Help protect the organization from payment errors, fraud, and other financial risks.

Requirements

• Experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills.
• Ability to investigate issues, resolve discrepancies, and know when to escalate.
• Understanding of payment controls and the importance of confidentiality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Remuneration

• $25 - $30/ hour
