Vice President of Biology

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Vice President of Biology. About the Role;

As the VP of Biology, you will lead and manage research initiatives, focusing on joint projects with academic and industrial partners. This position involves developing research strategies, overseeing experiments, and contributing to the company's growth by leveraging your expertise in biology. You will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our research, particularly in areas related to sustainable biomanufacturing.

Responsibilities;

• Research Planning and Management: Oversee and manage research projects in collaboration with companies and universities, ensuring the effective execution of experiments.
• Scientific Advisory: Provide expert advice on enhancing machine learning and simulation models from a scientific perspective to improve research outcomes.
• Strategic Development: Work with the management team to develop and refine research strategies that align with the company’s goals and growth plans.

Requirements;

Required:

• Experience: Over 5 years in research and development as a biologist, with experience in enzyme engineering, fermentation science, or synthetic biology, ideally within private companies or public research institutions.
• Leadership: Proven track record in managing research teams of 10 or more people.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Experience in leading cross-functional projects and global development programs.
• Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, organizational, and time management skills, with high proficiency in both English and Japanese.

Preferred:

• Bioinformatics: Expertise in bioinformatics.
• Language Proficiency: Business-level English proficiency (TOEIC 850, IELTS 6.5 equivalent).
