The Role
We’re partnering with a well-established, high-volume venue in Melbourne’s western suburbs seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at this busy, community-driven local favourite.

This is a great opportunity to take full ownership of a multifaceted operation covering restaurant service, functions, and events, within a business that values consistency, quality, and team culture.

You will take full ownership of kitchen operations, leading an established team while driving standards, consistency, and performance across all sections - including a high-volume pizza offering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and retain a small to mid-sized kitchen team, fostering a positive and accountable culture
• Oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations across restaurant service, functions, and events
• Design and execute seasonal, approachable menus aligned with the venue’s customer base
• Maintain strong cost control across COGs, labour, and wastage
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with FOH and events teams to deliver seamless guest experiences

What we're looking for

• 3+ years’ experience as a Head Chef in fast-paced, high-volume environments
• Strong background in functions, events, or club-style venues highly regarded
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain kitchen teams
• Strong financial acumen across COGs, labour, and operational performance
• Experience delivering consistent, seasonal menus
