The Quality Inspector ensures incoming, in-process, and finished products conform to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality requirements through effective inspection, documentation, and product verification.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform incoming, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using engineering drawings, specifications, and approved inspection methods.
Verify dimensional, visual, and workmanship requirements using precision measuring equipment.
Review manufacturing documentation to ensure traceability, certifications, and quality records are complete.
Complete inspection records, AS9102 First Article documentation, and other required quality records.
Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material in accordance with company procedures.
Verify measuring equipment is within calibration prior to use and report discrepancies.
Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to resolve product quality issues.
Support AS9100 requirements, internal audits, and continuous improvement activities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of inspection experience in aerospace or other precision manufacturing.
Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
Proficient with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace quality requirements preferred.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and sound judgment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic quality records.
High School diploma or equivalent required; technical training or quality certification preferred.
Quality Inspector Authorities:
Accept or reject product based on engineering and customer requirements.
Place nonconforming product on hold and initiate nonconforming material documentation.
Approve inspection records for completed inspection activities.
Escalate quality concerns affecting product conformity.
Physical Requirements:
Vision correctable to 20/20 for detailed inspections.
Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to safely use inspection equipment while wearing required PPE.
