Searson Buck is looking for experienced Multi-Skilled Civil Labourers for casual and temporary opportunities across Tasmania's civil construction sector.
If you're an experienced civil worker who enjoys variety, takes pride in doing a job properly and wants access to quality civil projects, we want to hear from you.
The Role
Depending on the project and your experience, you could be working across:

  • Road construction and maintenance
  • Drainage and pipelaying
  • Earthworks and site preparation
  • Concrete, formwork and asphalt works
  • Operating rollers, compactors and small plant
  • Driving rigid vehicles
  • Traffic management and site safety
  • Reading plans and recording as-constructed information
  • Completing pre-starts and site documentation

We Are Looking For
We want people who are genuinely multi-skilled and comfortable getting involved wherever the crew needs them.
You'll be someone who:

  • Takes pride in producing quality work
  • Turns up reliably and is ready to contribute
  • Works well as part of a crew
  • Uses initiative and can solve practical problems
  • Understands the importance of working safely
  • Is comfortable working outdoors in changing conditions
  • Can follow instructions without needing constant supervision
  • Is willing to move between labouring, plant operation and general civil duties

Must Haves
To be considered, you'll need:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction and/or significant civil construction experience
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in civil construction
  • White Card
  • Relevant licence for the duties being undertaken
  • Experience operating small plant and equipment
  • Ability to safely undertake physically demanding work
  • Good communication and basic literacy skills
  • Strong commitment to WHS and safe work practices
  • Able to pass Drug and Alcohol screen

MR Licence and Traffic Management accreditation may be required for some assignments.

Nice to Haves
Even better if you have experience or competencies in:

  • Asphalt works
  • Concrete and formwork
  • Drainage and pipelaying
  • Reading civil plans and design drawings
  • Excavators, loaders, rollers and other plant
  • Heavy plant operation
  • Elevated Work Platforms
  • Traffic Management
  • MR, HR or higher
  • Additional civil plant tickets or competencies
  • Recording as-constructed information
