Job Description:
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Check truck fluids, tires, brakes, vacuum pumps, and secure all hoses and valves.
- Site Preparation: Locate underground tanks, dig to expose access lids using tools like a rock bar or soil probe, and manage physical labor on site.
- Waste Extraction: Hook up suction hoses, operate vacuum pump systems, and carefully monitor waste flow to prevent spills.
- Transportation & Disposal: Drive loaded tanker waste securely to an approved municipal or regional treatment facility.
- Customer Service: Answer client questions regarding the pumping process and note any structural damage or failing components inside the septic system.
Equipment Maintenance Checklist
- Daily Checks: Inspect suction hoses for cracks, soft spots, or loose clamps; test valves for smooth operation.
- Weekly Tasks: Clear debris from tank baffles, clean sludge buildup, and inspect the primary shut-off float and manway gaskets.
- Monthly & Routine Servicing: Check fluid levels, grease PTO shafts, inspect vacuum pump performance, and test vehicle battery terminals for corrosion.
Requirements
- Reasonable Driving Background: CDL Preferred, not required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items (frequently over 50 to 150 lbs) and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) and environmental waste disposal guidelines.
90 days will move to permanent employee, and become eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401k program.
Position will be paid overtime past base hours and can be considered on call.
