We're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven General Manager who wants to take ownership of a successful business, act as the face of the organisation to clients and the market, and drive its next phase of profitable growth.
This is a role for an individual who is comfortable operating in front of clients, developing senior relationships, identifying opportunities, converting those opportunities into revenue, and creating long-term strategic partnerships.
Why Join Us?
· Lead a market-leading business with a global reputation.
· Work alongside industry experts and specialist technical teams.
· Enjoy genuine autonomy to influence strategy, performance, and growth.
· Be part of a larger international group with significant resources and support.
· Shape the future of a business operating within the fast-growing logistics, warehousing, and automation sectors.
· Play a pivotal role in developing new business opportunities and expanding our international client base.
This is a role where your leadership, commercial drive, and ability to build relationships will have a visible and lasting impact.
The Opportunity
Reporting to senior group leadership, you will take full responsibility for the operational, commercial, and strategic performance of the business.
You will lead specialist technical and support teams while acting as the senior commercial representative for the business in the market. A significant part of the role involves developing existing client relationships, engaging with prospective customers, identifying opportunities for growth, and converting those opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.
You will be expected to spend time in front of customers, developers, contractors, logistics operators, consultants, and key industry stakeholders, positioning the business as the partner of choice within its specialist markets.
Success in this role requires a leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, balancing commercial growth and business development with technical excellence and operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the overall performance, profitability, and growth of the business.
· Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and growth strategies.
· Drive revenue growth through both existing client development and new business generation.
· Actively identify, pursue, and secure new commercial opportunities and market sectors.
· Develop and maintain senior relationships with key clients, developers, contractors, logistics operators, and industry stakeholders.
· Serve as the public face of the business, representing the company at client meetings, industry events, conferences, and professional forums.
· Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and work closely with clients to understand their evolving needs.
· Lead, motivate, and develop technical and office-based teams.
· Oversee operational delivery, quality, compliance, and health and safety performance.
· Work closely with group leadership to support future growth initiatives and international opportunities.
About You
You are an ambitious, resilient, and commercially focused leader who thrives on responsibility, enjoys developing relationships, and has a track record of growing businesses.
You will bring:
· Proven leadership experience within a technical, engineering, consultancy, surveying, testing, construction, or related environment.
· A strong commercial mindset and demonstrable experience delivering revenue growth and improving business performance.
· Significant experience operating in a client-facing role and building relationships at senior decision-maker level.
· A proven ability to identify opportunities, win new business, and develop long-term customer partnerships.
· Experience leading operational teams while maintaining a strong external market presence.
· Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
· A strategic mindset combined with a practical, hands-on approach.
· A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
Experience within industrial flooring, warehousing, logistics, automation, or specialist technical services would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Person
We're looking for someone who is:
· Ambitious and growth-focused.
· Commercially astute and revenue-driven.
· Comfortable operating in front of customers and senior stakeholders.
· Naturally relationship-oriented and confident developing new business opportunities.
· Resilient, accountable, and results-focused.
· A strong communicator and inspiring leader.
· Driven to improve, innovate, and deliver results.
Most importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to lead a respected specialist business, become a recognised figure within the industry, grow client relationships, increase revenues, and leave a lasting impact.
If you're ready to take ownership, lead from the front, build lasting customer partnerships, and accelerate the growth of a world-class business, we'd love to hear from you.
