With a large, diverse workforce and operations running around the clock, payroll is a critical function within the business. You’ll be joining an experienced and supportive payroll team at an exciting time, with the organisation currently preparing for a major payroll systems transformation.

THE ROLE
Working as part of an established payroll team, you’ll take ownership of a weekly payroll of approximately 450 predominantly manufacturing employees within a complex, fast-paced environment.

THE ROLE
Working as part of an established payroll team, you’ll take ownership of a weekly payroll of approximately 450 predominantly manufacturing employees within a complex, fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing end-to-end weekly payroll from timesheet through to finalisation
- Extracting and reviewing employee hours from Kronos and processing through MicroPay
- Maintaining employee master data and processing payroll changes
- Processing allowances, deductions, leave, manual pays, back pays and salary increases
- Reviewing audit reports and investigating payroll discrepancies
- Managing workers compensation payments and reconciliations
- Completing payroll, superannuation, PAYG and deduction reconciliations and uploads
- Preparing payroll tax across NSW, VIC and WA
- Processing GL information and providing payroll reporting to Finance
- Responding to employee payroll queries and liaising with external bodies including the ATO and Centrelink
- Supporting the broader payroll team during peak periods
- Contributing to the payroll function as the business transitions from MicroPay to SAP
THE CANDIDATE
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Officer who is comfortable taking genuine ownership of an end-to-end payroll and understands the deadlines and complexities that come with a large weekly workforce.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong end-to-end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
- Experience managing weekly payrolls, ideally within manufacturing, industrial or another award/EBA-driven environment
- MicroPay experience will be highly regarded
- Experience with Kronos or another time & attendance system
- Sound knowledge of payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG, leave and payroll reconciliations
- Confidence working with high volumes and tight weekly deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- A collaborative, team-focused approach
- The confidence to work autonomously and take responsibility for your payroll

- Circa $110K + Super, with some flexibility depending on experience
- Permanent, stable opportunity with an established Australian business
- Flexible start and finish times : 8:00am–4:00pm, 8:30am–4:30pm or similar
- Supportive and experienced payroll team
- Ownership of a substantial weekly payroll
- Exposure to a major MicroPay to SAP transformation
- Time off in lieu available where additional hours are required
- Opportunity to work within a complex 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Five days onsite, ideal for someone who enjoys being part of the team and close to the operation
