Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Legal Administration Assistant to join an established legal practice.
Working across two busy areas, you will coordinate client matters and assist practitioners with document preparation, billing, diary management and file administration.
This is an office-based position working from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
About the Person
You are a capable legal administrator who enjoys variety and takes pride in producing accurate work.
Organised and approachable, you will be comfortable balancing deadlines, communicating with clients and anticipating what is required. You enjoy taking ownership of tasks and contributing to a busy professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format and proofread legal documents and correspondence
- Coordinate diaries, appointments, deadlines and electronic filing
- Open, maintain and close matters
- Complete client onboarding, conflict checks and identification processes
- Assist with company incorporations
- Prepare billing and manage electronic files
- Enter and maintain conveyancing transactions through PEXA
- Liaise with clients and respond to enquiries
- Provide broader administrative assistance as required
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Previous administration experience within a law firm
- Strong document formatting and proofreading capability
- Excellent organisation and time management
- High attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Outlook skills
- Confidence managing changing priorities
- Clear and professional communication
- Initiative and a practical, can-do approach
- Familiarity with legal practice management systems
- Affinity and PEXA experience will be highly regarded
