We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our manufacturing team in Oberlin, Ohio. In this role, you will develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for manufacturing projects based on customer specifications, production requirements, and company objectives. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support efficient and cost-effective production solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for new and repeat manufacturing projects.
  • Review blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications to identify cost drivers and production requirements.
  • Calculate material costs, labor hours, machine time, and other production-related expenses.
  • Work closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production teams to ensure estimate accuracy and feasibility.
  • Revise estimates as project scopes, production methods, or material costs change.
  • Deliver timely, organized, and well-documented estimates to support customer quotations and internal planning.
  • Assist with additional duties and special projects as needed to support company goals.

Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, operations, quality assurance, technical sales, estimating, or data analysis.
  • Technical certificate or degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Previous estimating experience is beneficial but not required; training is available for candidates with strong technical backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and quality control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
