Are you an experienced Civil Project Manager with a proven track record delivering major retaining wall, piling and reinforced concrete infrastructure projects?

We're seeking a technically strong Project Manager to join a respected specialist contractor delivering complex civil and geotechnical construction projects throughout Auckland.

This is not a traditional commercial construction role. We're looking for someone who understands the technical complexities of deep excavations, piling systems, large reinforced concrete retaining structures and heavy civil construction.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager & Construction Manager, you'll take ownership of high-value civil construction projects from planning through to completion. You'll lead project teams, manage subcontractors, coordinate engineers and consultants, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

You'll be involved in technically challenging projects requiring strong knowledge of retaining structures, piling methodologies and reinforced concrete construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of large-scale civil construction projects.
• Manage programmes, budgets and project resources.
• Coordinate engineers, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
• Oversee quality assurance, health & safety and environmental compliance.
• Manage project procurement and commercial performance.
• Drive project delivery from pre-construction through to handover.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide technical leadership throughout project delivery.

About You
We're looking for someone who has built their career within civil infrastructure, geotechnical construction or specialist foundation works.
You'll bring proven experience delivering projects involving:

• Large reinforced concrete retaining walls.
• Deep excavation support systems.
• Large diameter bored piling.
• Driven or CFA piling.
• Capping beams.
• Ground anchors and permanent tie-back systems.
• Shotcrete retaining systems.
• Temporary works and foundation construction.
• Reinforced concrete structures.

You'll also have experience working alongside consulting engineers, geotechnical specialists and clients on technically complex civil projects.

Ideally, You'll Have

• 8+ years' experience within heavy civil construction.
• Demonstrated success delivering retaining wall and piling packages on major infrastructure or commercial developments.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete construction.
• Excellent programme management and commercial acumen.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary project teams.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.

Highly Regarded Experience with projects involving:

• Transport infrastructure.
• Rail.
• Bridges.
• Major commercial basement excavations.
• Water infrastructure.
• Ports.
• Large-scale earthworks.
• Specialist geotechnical construction.
