#WBN Slitter Operator – $21/hr – 2nd Shift – Sparta, MI Job SummaryWe’re seeking an entry-level Slitter Operator to join our team in the Flexographic Printing Press Department in Sparta, MI. This position involves a variety of pressroom duties and serves as the first step toward learning and developing into a more specialized position within the department. What You’ll Be DoingAs a Slitter Operator, your key responsibilities will include:Press Cleaning: Clean all parts of the press, including pans, pumps, mixers, and doctor blade chambers. Equipment Operation: Operate the distiller, floor scrubber, and Flexo Wash. Ink Dye Training: Learn to fill dye fonts and properly time ink. Roll Handling: Learn how to hang rolls and assist with pulling finished rolls from the press. Press Changeovers: Learn how to prepare the press for changeovers. Warehouse Support: Help move finished products into the warehouse. Plate Cylinder Cleaning: Assist with cleaning plates, cylinders, and dye fonts. Scrap Tracking: Learn to accurately weigh and record scrap. Housekeeping: Keep the work area clean and free of debris by emptying trash containers, sweeping, and cleaning around the press area. Organization: Help keep the pressroom and work area organized. Training: Follow the training program designated by the department manager. Hazardous Waste: Properly maintain, label, and handle hazardous waste. Safety Quality: Comply with company rules and requirements regarding safety and quality. Teamwork: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating and behaving professionally with clients, customers, vendors, co-workers, and supervisors. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the manager and/or designee. What We’re Looking ForQualifications:Entry-level position with training provided within the department. Ability and willingness to learn various pressroom duties and equipment. Ability to follow department training programs and company procedures. Ability to comply with safety, quality, and hazardous waste requirements. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area. Skills:Attention to Detail: Important when cleaning equipment, handling materials, recording scrap, and following production procedures. Mechanical Aptitude: Willingness to learn how printing press equipment operates. Organization: Ability to keep tools, materials, and the work area organized. Teamwork: Ability to work positively with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments. Communication: Ability to communicate professionally with team members and leadership. Willingness to Learn: Motivated to learn additional pressroom duties and develop into a more specialized position.
