Warehouse Supervisor

We are looking for Warehouse Supervisor to join our client to work alongside a high-performing distribution team in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility with one of New Zealand's most recognised building products brands.

About the Role

Reporting to the Distribution Centre Operations Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 11 employees, including a 2IC and Warehouse Operators. You will be responsible for coordinating dispatch activities, allocating resources, maintaining inventory accuracy, driving safety performance, and ensuring service levels are consistently achieved.

This role will suit a hands-on leader who enjoys being close to the operation, coaching people, solving problems, and continuously improving warehouse and logistics performance. Please note that this role is based in Tauriko and it will be on the afternoon shift which is Monday to Friday 1pm – 9pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a distribution team to achieve operational and customer service objectives.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and support regular stocktaking.
• Ensure products are dispatched accurately and meet required quality standards.
• Active engage with the team on the warehouse floor with job planning, training and coaching.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, productivity, and customer service.

You will be working with New Zealand's only plasterboard manufacturer who has been successful in this industry for almost 100 years. This company forms part of a business who really supports its people and invests in the future.

• Strong safety performance and proactive hazard management.
• High levels of inventory accuracy.
• Consistent achievement of IFOTIS (In Full, On Time, In Spec) customer delivery targets.
• Improved truck turnaround times and dispatch efficiencies.
• High levels of employee engagement and team performance.

What You'll Bring

• Proven leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment.
• At least 5 years' experience in a large-scale distribution or logistics operation.
• Current forklift license, including counterbalance and reach is preferrable.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations.
• Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, resilient leadership style with a passion for developing people.
• Experience working with mechanical handling equipment and knowledge of dangerous goods requirements would be advantageous.
