Reporting to the finance leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This role offers exposure to month-end reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and close collaboration with operational teams, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in property accounting.
What You'll Do
- Prepare month-end journal entries and support the monthly close process
- Produce financial reporting packages, including supporting schedules and working papers
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and tax-related reconciliations
- Prepare annual operating budgets and assist with financial forecasting
- Support tenant recoveries, operating cost reconciliations, and year-end billings
- Process and reconcile intercompany transactions and chargebacks
- Review invoices and expense allocations for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management activities
- Partner with property management and operations teams to resolve accounting matters and support business objectives
What You'll Bring
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA designation or progress toward a professional accounting designation is considered an asset
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate or property accounting
- Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, and month-end reporting
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems
- Knowledge of property accounting principles is highly preferred
