Product Manager

As Product Manager, you will own the release management lifecycle and be responsible for implementing, improving and managing release processes for products after Global release. The Product Manager collaborates cross-functionally with development project members and is supportive of reviewers and testers as they set up their test environments.

• Create/Forward Release Plan working with Product Management
• Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
• Measure and monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
• Coordinate release content and effort based on deliverable
• Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
• Manage outsource testing vendor for cost ,contract and output.
• Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go process
• Create Release Note which satisfies Japanese customers
• Deliver prompt Documentation working with Technical writers
• Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required
• Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities
• Work with development team to understand impacts of bugs/known issues/known limitations
• Maintains the release schedule for product and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
• Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
• Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as version and release procedures, dependencies, and approvers/notification lists

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2-6 years of previous product release and/or project management experience
• 8-10 years of experience in the software industry
• Formal training in project management practices preferred
• Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
• Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese
• Strong advantage for candidates with:
  • Software development experience (QA or developer) 
  • Security software experience
