Porter – Buildings & Facilities – Iconic Venue – Central London – £28,500 - 6 month FTC

CBW is proud to partner with a prestigious client based in South West London. We’re searching for a reliable and proactive Porter to join a busy Buildings & Facilities team within a world-renowned venue. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days will be the same. This is a 6 month fixed term contract for now.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential porterage and facilities support across the building, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue and supporting events and building activities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Porterage Operations: Carry out building-wide porterage duties, including distributing water, moving furniture and equipment, supporting room setups and assisting with event turnaround activities
• Facilities Support: Assist with general building operations and support the wider Buildings & Facilities team as required
• General Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance and basic fabric repairs under the direction of the Facilities Manager or Fabric Team
• Event Support: Provide porterage support for events, including room setups, equipment moves and turnaround activities
• Building Presentation: Support housekeeping activities and help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment throughout the building
• External Works: Assist with the rigging of external banners and other operational requirements
• Health & Safety: Follow all relevant health and safety policies and procedures, including safe manual-handling practices
• Equipment & Stock: Use porterage equipment responsibly, carry out basic equipment checks, report faults and support stock movement and inventory tasks
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues and departments across the venue to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard

Your Work Pattern:

• 37.5 hours per week
• One-hour unpaid lunch break
• Some unsocial hours will be required

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a porterage or facilities support role, ideally within a large venue or similar environment
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Practical knowledge of building maintenance, housekeeping and porterage operations
• Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
• Good administration and organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• A proactive, self-motivated and flexible approach to work
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and external contacts
• A passion for delivering excellent customer service
• Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-moving and demanding environment
