We are seeking a strategic and driven IT Infrastructure Architect to oversee, optimize, and innovate our local NY data center and co-location infrastructure.

We are looking for a technically hands-on Architect to lead enterprise server, virtualization, and data center operations in a regulated banking environment. This is a working leadership role — you will manage a small engineering team while remaining deeply involved in architecture, engineering decisions, and complex escalations.

This is a full-time direct hire role working hybrid onsite 2-3 days per week in Midtown Manhattan with an organization that offers competitive compensation, the salary range for the role is $150,000-170,000 per year, an annual bonus, and a great benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Strategy and Planning

1. Develop and maintain 3–5 year Infrastructure Roadmap
2. Define enterprise infrastructure standards and target architecture
3. Align infrastructure investments with business goals and regulatory expectations
4. Establish infrastructure modernization strategy

• Enterprise Infrastructure Governance

1. Establish governance framework for infrastructure platforms
2. Oversee infrastructure risk management activities
3. Lead infrastructure compliance initiatives
4. Drive process maturity improvements

• Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure Architecture

1. Design and govern hybrid cloud architecture
2. Lead AWS and Azure infrastructure strategy
3. Evaluate emerging technologies and cloud services
4. Ensure appropriate cybersecurity and resiliency controls

• Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

1. Own technology recovery strategy
2. Coordinate disaster recovery architecture
3. Support enterprise BCP exercises
4. Improve recovery capabilities and resilience metrics

Required Skills

• 8+ years of progressive experience managing IT infrastructure within financial institutions or similarly regulated environments
• Experience overseeing both on-premises and cloud environments including system capacity planning, performance monitoring, and infrastructure optimization
• Strong knowledge of:

1. Infrastructure: Windows Server, VMware / Nutanix, Storage and Backup Platforms, Data Center Operations
2. Cloud: AWS / Azure, Hybrid Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, Zero Trust Concepts
3. Resiliency: Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning, Operational Resilience, High Availability Design

• Experience managing network infrastructure
• Managing local data center and co-location facilities, ensuring operational resilience, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with executives, auditors, regulators, and technical teams
• Experience with banking compliance standards and regulatory audits
• Experience leading disaster recovery, redundancy, and business continuity planning

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Extensive experience working in a banking or highly regulated financial environment
• Proven leadership in managing complex infrastructure projects and external partnerships
