Our client is a growing civil construction company delivering a range of metropolitan civil projects. They are currently seeking a Work Health & Safety Advisor to join their team and provide practical WHS support across multiple project sites.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on site, building strong relationships with crews and supervisors, and helping create a positive and proactive safety culture.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Provide WHS advice and support to project teams across multiple sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, observations and risk assessments to identify hazards and improve safety outcomes.
• Coach supervisors, leading hands and site crews on safe work practices and WHS requirements.
• Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and consideration of human factors.
• Assist with audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and one-on-one safety coaching.
• Support compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act, Regulations and relevant industry requirements.
• Promote compliance with the company's Safety Management System and relevant ISO standards.
• Assist project teams with risk management, safe systems of work and safety planning.
• Complete relevant WHS reporting and administrative requirements.
• Build strong working relationships with employees, supervisors, project teams and management.
About you:
• Previous experience in a WHS Advisor role within the civil construction industry.
• Relevant Work Health & Safety qualification, such as Cert IV in WHS or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and reviewing safe systems of work and SWMS.
• Understanding of incident investigation, root cause analysis and human factors.
• Knowledge of HSEQ systems, ISO standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Practical, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to engage with site-based teams.
• Ability to work across multiple project environments and build positive relationships at all levels.
