Job Overview: 

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle count administration, inventory analysis, discrepancy resolution, reporting, and materials planning support. This role partners with Warehouse, Production, Purchasing, Scheduling, and Supply Chain teams to ensure inventory records accurately reflect physical inventory and support operational needs.

The position serves as a key resource for investigating inventory variances, resolving discrepancies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role combines analytical responsibilities with hands-on warehouse activities, including cycle counts, inventory audits, transaction reviews, and inventory research.

Responsibilities: 
Inventory Control: 

• Maintain and administer the facility cycle count program, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual count schedules.
• Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory reconciliations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Process inventory adjustments and reconciliation transactions within SAP.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, analyze trends, and support annual physical inventory activities.
• Maintain inventory records and ensure compliance with inventory control standards.
• Assist in developing and improving inventory control policies and procedures.

Inventory Analysis & Investigation

• Research inventory discrepancies, transaction errors, and variances to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct inventory audits and transaction reviews to validate inventory integrity.
• Partner with warehouse, production, and planning teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
• Analyze inventory movements and transaction history to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Maintain documentation of inventory investigations and corrective actions.
• Reporting & Data Analysis
• Maintain inventory reports, dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics.
• Track and report inventory accuracy, cycle count completion, adjustment activity, and variance trends.
• Provide inventory analysis to support operational and supply chain decision-making.
• Communicate key inventory trends, risks, and concerns to management.

Materials Planning Support

• Review and release MRP requisitions in SAP.
• Support material planning, replenishment, and inventory-related master data maintenance.
• Assist with item setup activities and ensure inventory data accuracy.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Planning teams to maintain material availability.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve inventory processes, warehouse efficiency, and material flow.
• Support inventory optimization, warehouse organization, and supply chain improvement initiatives.
• Promote accountability and ownership of inventory accuracy across the organization.
• Recommend process improvements based on inventory analysis and operational observations.

Requirements: 

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain functions.
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• SAP experience required.

Preferences:  

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
• Manufacturing, inventory control, materials planning, or warehouse experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
• Experience with SAP, MRP systems, and inventory management software.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on inventory accuracy, reporting, and process improvement.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently walk warehouse and production floor areas.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and perform inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work in both office and warehouse environments.

Work Environment

This position is a hybrid role that combines office-based analytical work with hands-on warehouse activities. The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of time utilizing SAP and Excel to analyze inventory data and generate reports, while also working directly within the warehouse to conduct cycle counts, perform inventory audits, investigate discrepancies, and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
