Lead Low Voltage AV Technician – Audio Visual Systems | San Antonio, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day commercial AV installation projects and provide direction to technicians on-site

  • Install, terminate, and test AV cabling, including HDMI, CAT6/6A, fiber, audio, and control cable

  • Install and commission AV systems in conference rooms, huddle spaces, training rooms, boardrooms, and other commercial environments

  • Mount and install projectors, screens, displays, video walls, speakers, microphones, and other AV equipment

  • Rack, wire, and organize AV systems, switches, patch panels, and headend equipment

  • Configure and troubleshoot AV systems, including Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Logitech, Teams, and Zoom Rooms

  • Read and interpret AV system blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and project documentation

  • Troubleshoot and service existing AV systems and identify installation issues in the field

  • Communicate with project managers, clients, general contractors, and other trades to keep projects on schedule

  • Train and mentor junior technicians while maintaining quality and safety standards

  • Work safely on ladders and lifts and follow all applicable job-site safety requirements

  • Support additional low-voltage systems as needed at commercial and industrial sites

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of commercial AV installation experience; Lead experience preferred

  • Experience leading AV installation crews or running projects in the field

  • Strong understanding of AV system integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning

  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, or similar AV platforms

  • Working knowledge of telecom, data networks, switches, and AV-over-IP systems

  • Ability to read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams

  • CTS, BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications are a plus

  • Manufacturer certifications such as Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or Biamp are a plus

  • Basic hand tools and PPE required

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the San Antonio area and surrounding regions as needed
