Our client is seeking a Dealer Principal / General Manager to lead their dealership in Wellington.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a high-potential dealership, driving commercial performance, leading a talented team and helping build the presence of two emerging automotive brands in the Wellington market.

With the support of an experienced Regional Manager and Group Office, you'll have the autonomy to make an impact while benefiting from the resources and career opportunities available across New Zealand's largest independent automotive retail group.

The Opportunity as Dealer Principal / General Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall success of the dealership, ensuring strong financial performance while developing a high-performing and customer-focused team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving overall commercial and operational performance
• Leading and developing sales and service teams
• Managing dealership profitability, margins and stock performance
• Growing brand presence across the Wellington region
• Building strong customer, manufacturer and stakeholder relationships
• Implementing strategies to achieve sales and business objectives
• Ensuring exceptional customer service and operational standards

About You To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• Automotive dealership leadership experience as:
  • Sales Manager
  • General Sales Manager
  • Dealer Principal
  • General Manager
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to drive results
  • Experience leading, coaching and motivating high-performing teams
  • A customer-centric leadership style
  • Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver's license
