About the Company
Davidson is partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Principal Investigator – Conduct Investigations for an initial 6-month contract.

This is an opportunity to join an established conduct investigations function and manage sensitive and potentially complex workplace conduct matters within a large government environment.

About the Role
As Principal Investigator, you will independently manage a caseload of workplace conduct investigations from commencement through to findings and reporting.

Working within relevant legislative, policy and governance frameworks, you will assess allegations and evidence, conduct interviews, analyse information and prepare clear, defensible investigation reports and recommendations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Independently managing sensitive and complex workplace conduct investigations
  • Managing multiple active investigation matters and associated casework
  • Gathering, assessing and analysing evidence and relevant information
  • Conducting interviews with relevant parties and witnesses
  • Applying procedural fairness throughout the investigation process
  • Preparing high-quality investigation reports, findings, briefs and recommendations
  • Providing advice on conduct, complaints and investigation matters
  • Identifying emerging or systemic issues arising from investigations
  • Engaging effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Attending sites as required to undertake investigations

About You
You will be an experienced workplace/conduct investigator with demonstrated capability personally managing investigations end-to-end.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience conducting employee conduct and/or misconduct investigations
  • Strong end-to-end investigation capability, including scoping, interviews, evidence assessment, findings and reporting
  • Experience independently managing a caseload of concurrent and potentially complex matters
  • Strong knowledge of procedural fairness and contemporary investigation practices
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and report-writing capability
  • Confidence handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, consultation and conflict-resolution skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and deliver within required timeframes
  • Recent Government/public-sector Conduct Investigations experience will be highly regarded

Candidates whose investigation experience is primarily in insurance, claims or other non-workplace investigative environments will not be suited to this opportunity.
