Responsibilities:
- Coordinate waste management projects across domestic, commercial, illegal dumping, litter reduction and community awareness programs.
- Manage grant applications, project delivery, reporting and acquittals.
- Prepare RFQs and tenders and coordinate contractors and consultants.
- Manage project budgets, grant funding and financial reporting.
- Prepare reports in line with Council’s delivery plan and financial requirements.
- Liaise with internal teams, NSROC, EPA and other external stakeholders on waste-related projects.
- Coordinate annual waste and recycling audits across the LGA.
- Research and contribute to improvements in waste management policies, processes and technologies.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation using CRM and HP TRIM.
- Support community engagement and communication around waste management projects.
- 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and substantial experience in waste management or a related field.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Experience delivering major waste projects focused on waste recovery and reduction.
- Experience in waste education and community awareness programs.
- Experience managing external contractors and consultants.
- Strong experience preparing RFQs and tenders.
- Proven ability to secure and manage grant funding.
- Strong organisational, project and financial management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, consultants and government stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of the waste industry and emerging trends.
- Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
