26031 | Sourcing Lead | Multinational B2B Industrial Distributor

The Organization

For one of our clients, a well-established multinational B2B industrial distributor with operations across Europe and Asia-Pacific, we are searching for a Sourcing Lead to join their Global Procurement organization.

The company combines large-scale technical distribution with deep application expertise and integrated service solutions, serving a broad range of industrial end markets. Following a significant transformation of its procurement function, the organization has recently centralized its sourcing activities and is entering the next phase of its strategic development, with a clear focus on supplier consolidation, category management, and measurable value creation.

The Role

As Sourcing Lead, you will take ownership of the global sourcing strategy for one of the company's key product categories. You will lead a small team of Procurement Managers and work in close partnership with Product Group Management to align sourcing strategy with commercial and assortment priorities.

You will drive supplier consolidation, lead negotiations with strategic partners, and support the development of the supplier base across both established and emerging sourcing geographies. Beyond category ownership, you will play an active role in the broader procurement transformation, elevating team capabilities and contributing directly to EBITDA performance.

The position is based at one of the company's locations in the Netherlands, either in the Alkmaar or Roermond area. A hybrid working model applies, with a limited amount of international travel.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in strategic procurement or category management within an industrial, technical, or manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record managing significant spend responsibility within a structured category management framework.
• Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiation, supplier consolidation, and strategic sourcing across international supply bases.
• Experience leading and developing a small team of procurement professionals.
• Familiarity working within an international matrix organization and collaborating across commercial and operational functions.

• Strategic sourcing mindset. Able to develop and execute category strategies that deliver sustainable commercial value.
• Strong negotiation skills. Structured and confident in managing complex, multi-geography supplier relationships.
• Leadership and coaching ability. Capable of developing team members at varying levels of seniority and raising the overall standard of procurement execution.
• Business partnership orientation. Effective at working alongside product management, sales, and operations to ensure sourcing and commercial strategy are developed in close alignment.
• Analytical and data-driven. Uses spend analysis, supplier performance data, and market intelligence to support decision-making.
• Change-oriented mindset. Comfortable contributing to a function undergoing meaningful transformation and professionalization.

Language Requirements

• Fluency in English is required.
• Dutch is considered a advantage
