Corrosion & Integrity Engineer

Location: Chatsworth, CA or Pico Rivera, CA
Work Model: Hybrid – 4 days in office, 1 day remote
Contract: 12 months
Pay Rate: Up to $72.53/hour

We are seeking experienced Corrosion & Integrity Engineers to support pipeline and equipment integrity activities across Southern California. This is a 12-month contract opportunity focused on corrosion management, pipeline integrity, assessment and mitigation strategies.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of pipeline corrosion and integrity management, with experience evaluating assessment data and developing appropriate mitigation and repair strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor pipeline and equipment corrosion and support the implementation of corrosion mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain and update pipeline integrity procedures, systems and corrosion management programs.
  • Carry out and support cathodic protection programs.
  • Perform and support Fitness-for-Service evaluations for corrosion, dents and crack features.
  • Evaluate pipeline integrity data and make technical recommendations based on assessment results.
  • Support In-Line Inspection (ILI) and Direct Assessment (DA) activities.
  • Apply appropriate Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) methods and practices.
  • Support pipeline repair decisions and activities.
  • Coordinate pipeline services, pigging operations and in-line inspection activities.
  • Arrange and support material investigations.
  • Maintain and update corrosion strategies and mitigation policies.
  • Support the maintenance and repair of cathodic protection systems.
  • Ensure technical documentation, records and integrity information are accurately maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and supervisors to support safe and reliable pipeline operations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in pipeline integrity and corrosion engineering.
  • Experience conducting or supporting Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations for corrosion, dents and crack features.
  • Strong knowledge of API 579 and/or relevant FFS assessment methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of In-Line Inspection (ILI) and Direct Assessment (DA).
  • Strong understanding of Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) methods and practices.
  • Experience evaluating pipeline assessment data and making integrity or repair decisions.
  • Knowledge of pipeline repair methods and integrity management practices.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NACE CP1 certification is highly desired.
  • Experience with CorLAS, RSTRENG, MAT-8 or similar pipeline integrity assessment tools.
  • Experience with cathodic protection systems and programs.
  • Experience with pigging operations and pipeline in-line inspection.

Additional Information

  • This is a 12-month contract position with no FTE conversion planned.
  • The position follows a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one day remote.
  • Work location will be either Chatsworth (1 opening) or Pico Rivera (2 openings).
  • The interview process will involve multiple rounds, including the hiring manager and a panel of three supervisors.
  • Equipment, including a laptop and monitor, will be provided.
