Working pattern: Monday–Friday, 8am–5:30pm coverage, 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
We are currently recruiting for Junior IT Deskside Support Engineers to join a public sector IT deskside team supporting staff across a large public-sector organisation.
This is a hands-on support role covering Windows desktops, Microsoft 365, end-user devices, identity and access, networking and remote connectivity. You’ll be part of a coordinated team providing day-to-day technical support to users across office and remote-working environments.
What you'll be doing
- Providing day-to-day desktop and service desk support to end users
- Investigating and resolving IT incidents and service requests
- Supporting Windows laptops, desktops and peripherals
- Providing technical support across Microsoft 365, including Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint and Intune
- Supporting Active Directory and Entra ID, including user access and account-related issues
- Troubleshooting VPN, remote access and network connectivity issues
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software
- Supporting Microsoft Teams, Teams Rooms and meeting-room/AV technology
- Deploying and replacing hardware and maintaining IT assets
- Supporting joiner, mover and leaver processes
- Working within an ITSM/ticketing environment
- Escalating complex incidents to internal technical teams and third-party suppliers
- Maintaining technical documentation and knowledge articles
- Supporting technology upgrades, rollouts, office moves and other ICT projects
What we're looking for
You'll need:
- At least 3 years' experience in an ICT Service Desk or Desktop Support environment
- At least 3 years' experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems
- Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365
- Experience with technologies such as Intune, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint and/or SCCM
- Experience with Active Directory and/or Entra ID
- Experience supporting remote access technologies such as VPN or Azure Virtual Desktop
- Experience working with an ITSM/ticketing system
- Good understanding of information security and data protection
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a support team
- EU Citizenship, a Stamp 4 Visa or a Stamp 1G Spousal Visa where your spouse is on a Stamp 4 Visa or has EU Citizenship. Applications from candidates without any of these categories of work permission will not be considered, including Stamp 1G Graduate Visa applicants.
Experience with Veeam, network troubleshooting/patching, ITIL, hybrid cloud or public-sector environments would be advantageous.
