Water Treatment Engineer – FM Service Provider – Central London – £48,000 + Overtime

CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Water Treatment Engineer to join a leading FM Service Provider at a prestigious commercial high-rise building in Central London.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the site's water treatment and water hygiene compliance, covering cooling towers, domestic hot and cold water, LTHW and chilled water systems. This is a Monday-to-Friday position with no call-out, offering a salary of £48,000 plus overtime.

Hours of Work:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00 – 17:00
  • No call-out

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor cooling towers and evaporative cooling systems.
  • Carry out water sampling, temperature monitoring, dip slides and routine inspections.
  • Oversee cleaning, disinfection and chlorination works.
  • Manage domestic hot and cold water systems.
  • Carry out flushing programmes and monitor low-use outlets.
  • Inspect calorifiers, storage tanks and expansion vessels.
  • Monitor closed-loop heating and chilled water systems.
  • Carry out water quality monitoring, sampling and analysis.
  • Monitor chemical dosing, inhibitor levels and corrosion control.
  • Review chemical and microbiological sampling results.
  • Manage specialist water treatment contractors.
  • Maintain water hygiene records, schematics and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274 Parts 1 & 2, COSHH and Water Fittings Regulations.
  • Support Legionella risk assessments and required remedial works.
  • Produce monthly compliance reports and support site audits.
  • Carry out basic plumbing repairs, including leaks, pipework and dead-leg removal.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a large commercial building or estate.
  • Strong experience with cooling towers and evaporative cooling systems.
  • Good knowledge of domestic water hygiene and Legionella compliance.
  • Experience with closed-loop heating and chilled water treatment.
  • Ability to interpret chemical and microbiological water analysis reports.
  • Experience managing specialist water treatment contractors.
  • Good client-facing and communication skills.

Qualifications:
  • Legionella Responsible Person – HSG274 Part 2
  • C&G Legionella Control & Management of Hot and Cold Water Services and Evaporative Cooling Systems (WH010) – HSG274 Part 1
  • CABWI Level 3 Diploma in Water Treatment or equivalent
  • City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing
  • WH004 Legionella Risk Assessment – Desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely – Desirable
  • COSHH / Permit to Work experience – Desirable
