Chandler Macleod is seeking a talented APS5 Content Designer to join a Federal Government client on an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of a further 12-month extension.

You will play a key role in transforming complex information into simple, engaging content while ensuring compliance with Australian Government digital standards and accessibility requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit and publish digital content using content management systems, including GovCMS.
- Develop clear, concise and user-focused content written in plain English.
- Conduct content reviews, audits and remediation activities to improve quality and consistency.
- Apply content design principles and best practice digital communication standards.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather information and convert complex material into accessible content.
- Support website governance activities, publishing workflows and content lifecycle management.
- Contribute to user research, usability testing and content improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing information architecture and content structures that improve the user experience.
- Ensure content aligns with accessibility requirements and government digital standards.
- Experience writing and editing clear, concise, audience-focused content in plain English.
- Understanding of content design, digital communications and user-centred design principles.
- Experience working with content management systems, preferably Drupal or GovCMS.
- Knowledge of the Australian Government Digital Service Standard, Style Manual and WCAG accessibility requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Professional Writing, Digital Media, Marketing, Public Relations or a related discipline.
- Experience using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Understanding of SEO principles and writing content for digital channels.
- Experience working in Agile or multidisciplinary digital delivery teams.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
