Position Overview
- Location: Southern Tasmania (Local Government Authority)
- Duration: 4–5 months
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Start: Immediate / as soon as available
- Assess development applications, engineering plans, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation
- Provide engineering advice across roads, stormwater, traffic, earthworks, servicing, and infrastructure integration
- Liaise with developers, consultants, government authorities, and internal stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
- Prepare and review engineering-related permit conditions, technical reports, and professional recommendations
- Support development assessment processes, compliance activities, and infrastructure handover within statutory timeframes
- Degree-qualified Civil Engineer or related discipline
- Proven experience in development engineering, ideally within a local government environment
- Strong understanding of development assessment processes, civil infrastructure, and relevant legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Highly organised, self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities independently
- Local government contract opportunity with immediate start
- Competitive hourly rate (commensurate with experience) + superannuation
- Exposure to a wide range of development engineering projects
