About the Company
Established in 1996 in the heart of South Australia, Australian Grain Export (AGE) is a leading player in grain marketing and exporting. With deep roots in Australian Agriculture, they have built a legacy of excellence as a diversified agribusiness known for quality and service.
Their expertise is primarily in exporting Australian grain products directly from farms to global destinations. AGE trade grain commodities from all key regions of Australia and can source from multiple third origins worldwide to streamline their customer supply chains.
By adding value to the products grown by grain growers, rather than simply exporting raw materials AGE built a state-of-the-art processing and packing facility in late 2016 in Dublin, South Australia, conveniently located approximately 57km North of Port Adelaide.

Role Overview
AGE are now seeking a driven and capable Lead Process Operator to join their team in the facility in Dublin SA.  This role is critical in supporting the day-to-day operation of the grain cleaning, splitting, milling and fractionation processes while contributing to the broader operational improvement of the site. This position offers the opportunity to develop into a 2IC position, working closely with site leadership to improve productivity, quality outcomes and operational efficiency while supporting the long-term success of the business.

About the Person
This role extends well beyond operating processing equipment. It requires an individual with strong technical and mechanical aptitude, a proactive approach to problem solving and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to monitor production quality and yield, identify opportunities to improve plant performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficient operation of grain cleaning and splitting facility (Peas and Faba Beans)
  • Operation of milling and fractionation line (Faba Beans)
  • Routine and proactive maintenance of the plant
  • Contribution to problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Take ownership of the area and maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Monitor output quality and adjust the plant to achieve desired results (Quality and Yield)
  • Inventory control/stock management
  • Data capture and basic export paperwork
  • Forklift operation
  • Other duties as required across the packing site including potential export packing site hygiene
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in operating grain cleaning/processing machinery or similar
  • Mechanically minded and able to fault-find and problem solve
  • A solid understanding of production quality, yield optimisation, inventory management and safe operating procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across the site and build positive working relationships
  • Dedicated and reliable team player
  • Forklift licence

While direct grain processing experience would be highly regarded, we also recognise that exceptional candidates may come from adjacent industries including food manufacturing, milling, agricultural processing, feed production, mining and mineral processing, industrial manufacturing or other complex production environments where technical aptitude, operational discipline and a continuous improvement mindset are highly valued.
