Manager, Business and Oversight — Superannuation Trustee

Our client is a growing financial services business building out its Superannuation Trustee function. As part of this uplift, they're creating a new Manager, Business and Oversight role within their Office of the Trustee, a 2nd line function providing independent oversight and assurance over the material service providers that support the Trustee's obligations.
This is a genuine build-and-run opportunity: you'll help shape the frameworks and processes for a newly formed team, while also getting your hands dirty in the day-to-day oversight of a material service provider portfolio.

Our client is a growing financial services business building out its Superannuation Trustee function. As part of this uplift, they're creating a new Manager, Business and Oversight role within their Office of the Trustee, a 2nd line function providing independent oversight and assurance over the material service providers that support the Trustee's obligations.
This is a genuine build-and-run opportunity: you'll help shape the frameworks and processes for a newly formed team, while also getting your hands dirty in the day-to-day oversight of a material service provider portfolio.
What you'll do
- Support the SPS 515 member outcomes assessment — coordinating inputs from service providers and internal stakeholders, analysing metrics and reporting results, and helping prepare papers for management and trustee committees
- Lead detailed reviews of material service providers against the oversight framework, assessing CPS 230 preparedness including incident management, business continuity and disaster recovery testing
- Support operational risk and financial resilience (ORFR) obligations, ensuring incidents, control weaknesses and remediation actions are documented, escalated and tracked to resolution
- Contribute to product governance — reviewing product change proposals and service provider impacts against DDO obligations, and monitoring Target Market Determinations for triggers and breaches
- Review service provider controls over member communications and disclosures, and oversee resolution of any related issues or incidents
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, law, finance, risk or governance
- Experience in superannuation, a trustee office, risk, governance, oversight, audit or service provider management — ideally within an APRA-regulated environment
- Working knowledge of SPS 515, CPS 230, operational risk frameworks, member outcomes and product governance requirements
- APRA experience is essential; ASIC exposure highly regarded
- FAR (Financial Accountability Regime) experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and issue-management skills, with the ability to interpret service provider data and drive practical remediation
- Sound judgement and the confidence to constructively challenge service providers and senior stakeholders while maintaining collaborative relationships
